Welcome to Stirpe and Stones
We are an assessment-based private psychological practice co-located in the GTA and Kitchener-Waterloo that provides clinical and forensic evaluations to inform decision makers about DSM-5 diagnosis of psychopathology, neuro-cognitive assessment, forensic risk appraisal, treatment planning and risk management, detection of deviant response styles including malingering, and capacity assessment issues related to adult guardianship and trusteeship.
Our focus is on psychological assessment framed within a psycho-legal context, with referrals from government departments, Crown and defense counsel pertaining to criminal, family and civil court proceedings. Stirpe and Stones offer expertise with the assessment of special populations, including Indigenous and Inuit persons residing in remote locations, sexual offenders and persons with complex psychosocial histories including psychological trauma and substance abuse. Due to the nature of our work, we are licensed to provide professional psychological services in multiple provincial and territorial jurisdictions.
With more than 50 years of frontline work experience in the Canadian criminal justice system between them, Dr. Tania Stirpe and Dr. George Stones offer objective professional psychological consultation about a range of clinical and forensic issues relevant to an adult population.
